The Bachelorette aired a new episode tonight July 2, 2012. Look below for a full live recap of the show to find out who gets a rose tonight on the hometown dates and who goes home tonight.

Chris, 25, a corporate sales director from Chicago, IL
Jef, 27, an entrepreneur from Salt Lake City, UT
Sean, 28, an insurance agent from Dallas, TX

LIVE RECAP:

Emily’s first hometown date took place in Chicago with Chris. The couple went for a stroll around the famed city and then stopped in at a Polish restaurant to get a taste of Chris’ family’s heritage. Emily instantly felt comfortable with Chris’ tight knit family but his family is left worrying that he will be getting his heart broken by Emily.  His sister Renee even asks Em that if Chris isn’t the one, then to let him know sooner rather than later.

Emily next meets up with Jef in his hometown of St. George, Utah. The two meet at his ranch and she is surprised to see a different side of him: A laid back, down to earth country boy. Emily is enjoying her time with Jef shooting clay targets and touring the beautiful ranch.


Later on in the date, we learn that Jef’s parents are not going to meet Em because they are mission presidents of the Mormon Church in South Carolina. But Em does meet Jef’s siblings who turn out to be very critical, at first. Jef’s brother Steve admits that he’s nervous about Jef becoming a dad so quickly. He pulls Emily aside and they talk about her values and he asks her what she feels it takes to stay in love. Emily responds that it’s just knowing “this is it.”

Emily then chats with Jef’s sisters and tells then she’s worried that if she ends up with Jef, he will realize that he doesn’t want to be a father or a husband. She confides in them that she’s falling in love with Jef, even though she’s slow to admit that. Jef then gets all romantic and writes a letter to Em, confessing his love for her. She tells him that is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for her.

Emily then heads to Scottsdale, Arizona to meet with Arie. He arrives in an Idie car and she tells him he looks “stupid hot.” The duo go for a ride at an Arizona racetrack and Emily is very happy. Arie’s family is Dutch and he is worried that there will be a culture clash between his family and Emily. But Arie’s worries are laid to rest when his family falls in love with her. 


For her last hometown date, Emily heads to Dallas, Texas–to meet Sean, of course. The couple’s date starts with a romantic picnic. Sean confides in Em that a previously failed relationship is the reason why he won’t get serious with a woman again unless he plans on spending the rest of his life with that person.

Sean tells Em that he still lives at home with his parents! And he lives in a messy room, saying he wishes his mom picked up after him. Say what? Just kidding it turns out–Sean does not really still live in a messy room with his folks. The date ends well with the two stealing some last minute kisses.
