When I first heard Justin Bieber was being sued for damages, I thought it was the paparazzo who claimed the 18-year old singer had assaulted him.
But no, this suit against the pop sensation is even more bizarre.
The Biebs was slapped with a $9.23 million dollar suit Thursday by a mother who alleges that she suffered severe and permanent hearing loss when she was “struck with a sound blast” when she escorted her daughter to one of Biber’s concerts.
The “sound blast” which caused the injuries was not Bieber’s voice if that’s what you were thinking. Instead, the woman claims that she suffered massive injuries when Bieber was carried over the audience in a steel heart-shaped gondola which sent his fans into a “frenzy of screams.” She claims Bieber pointed to the fans to make them scream out loud, section by section.
The incident took place during a 2010 Bieber concert at the Rose Quarter Arena in Oregon. The plaintiff says in court documents that she experienced an unanticipated “sound blast” which exceeded safe decibel levels. She further claims that this sound caused her significant hearing loss as well as tinnitus (ringing of the ears) and hyperacusis (over-sensitivity to certain sound frequencies) in both ears.
Bieber has yet to speak out on this suit but his manager, Scooter Braun, did all the talking via Twitter. He wrote: “Dear the lady who is suing Justin for 9 million because his music was too loud, screwwwww you.”
Sasha is amazing, her rendition of both songs gave me goosebumps, and I promise you that’s not easy! The clear winner in a group of very talented contestants.
