I admit that I have not watched much of the Olympics. But luckily, I did happen to catch Oscar Pistorius of South Africa race in the 400-meter semifinals as the first double amputee to compete in the games.

The sincerity and love spewing from Pistorius during his interview after not qualifying for the finals warmed and touched my heart like no other athlete has in a long time. He is a true spirit of what the Olympic Games should represent.
Kirani James, the winner of the 400-meter race was so moved by Pistorius that he exchanged uniform nameplates with Oscar after the race ended and held it up to the crowd.

And now, an old image of the Olympic athlete who is nicknamed The Blade Runner has resurfaced on Twitter which further symbolizes the heart of this champ. Oscar is seen racing here with Ellie Challs from Little Clacton, Essex, who lost her hands and lower legs after contracting meningitis at 16 months. Ellie was the youngest person to wear Dorset Orthopaedics [same type that Oscar uses] and seems like she was holding her own against the South African paralympian. What a hero for Ellie to emulate.
