People Magazine has just crowned the 2012 and newest “Sexiest Man Alive,” and the winner is… Channing Tatum. This is the latest in a slew of honors for Tatum and caps off a big year for the 32-year-old dancer turned actor. He had three major box office successes with “Magic Mike,” “The Vow” and “21 Jump Street.” Recently, Tatum was also named GQ Magazine’s Movie Star of the Year.

Tatum tells People Magazine that upon hearing the news “My first thought was, ‘Y’all are messing with me,’ ” he continues, “I told [my wife] Jenna and She was like, ‘What?’ Yeah, she calls me the Sexiest Man Alive now.”

Next up for Tatum is portraying an Olympic wrestler in the film “Foxcatcher.”
Other hotties on the list this year include: Blake Shelton, Matt Bomer, Ben Affleck and Chris Hemsworth.

People Magazine has been compiling the annual list of Hollywood heartthrobs since 1985- the first winner was Mel Gibson. Previous winners include Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Ryan Reynolds and last year’s winner- Bradley Cooper.

The issue hits newsstands Friday, November 16.
