Vice President Joe Biden has something else to celebrate this week. It has been announced that the newly re-elected VP will make a guest appearance, as himself on next week’s episode of NBC’s “Parks and Recreation.” The cameo was taped back in July but was kept secret until after the election.

Cast and crew traveled to Washington, D.C. to film on location and shot Biden’s scene in the White House. Details about the appearance are sparse, but we do know that Poehler’s character Leslie Knope, goes to Washington, D.C. and meets Biden as part of a special surprise.

Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope idolizes the Vice President Biden and mentions him frequently. She has a lot of social figures that she considers heroes, but the funniest hero is Joe Biden,” The show’s Executive Producer Michael Schur says. “There’s an episode last season where she says, ‘Joe Biden is on my celebrity sex list — well, he is my celebrity sex list’…”

Schur said that Mr. Biden told him that he is a fan of the show and watches it with his family. According to Schur, the Vice President also “said some very nice things about the show and talked about how the pro-public service message was meaningful.”
Parks and Recreation is in its fourth season; and stars Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope, a deputy director of the parks and recreation department in Indiana.

The episode airs on NBC November 15th.
