Selena Gomez has been named “Woman of the Year” in the December issue of Glamour.

“Woman of the Year – I didn’t even know I was a woman!” Gomez tells the mag. We didn’t know either Selena. But heck, Selena will take the honors.”I’m very honored… and it’s a very, very big deal to me. I’m going to hold it close to my heart.”

Gomez was bestowed the title partly due to her blossoming career but also because she is the youngest UNICEF ambassador of all-time. Gomez also participates in the Ryan Seacrest Foundation which creates programs for severely injured kids and pediatric hospitals. In other words, Selena is a charity maven.

Taylor Swift is proud of her friend. “She’s giving back to people who need help, because of her own life experience. She’s the exception to so many rules.”
