Taylor Swift turns 23 today. Happy birthday Ms. Swift. The young singer woke up to the “Best birthday surprise EVER” Thursday when her song “Safe & Sound” was given a Golden Globes nod for Best Original Song.

So, of course Taylor took to Twitter to show her appreciation. “Thank you @goldenglobes and HFPA! #hungergames!”

She later said of the honors of getting nominated for her first Golden Globes: “What an amazing and unexpected present! I’m blown away by my first-ever Golden Globe nomination, and so honored to be nominated with T Bone Burnett and The Civil Wars.”

Taylor continued gushing: “Writing music for The Hunger Games was a labor of love—I was a fan of the stories and the characters, and we all wanted the music to have an authenticity that matched the tone of the movie and the emotions expressed in the book. This is a huge honor, and I’m really excited and so flattered. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association!”

Now, getting a Golden Globe nomination should be present enough on one’s birthday. But not if you’re charmed like Taylor Swift. The star also premieres her video for “I Knew You Were Trouble’ today on MTV at 4:40 PM E.T. “December 13th is my 23rd birthday, and also the premiere of my 23rd video,” Taylor tweeted. “How fun.” How fun, indeed…if you’re Taylor that is.
