The wait is FINALLY over! Justin Timberlake is headed back into the recording studio. The singer/actor has announced that he is ready to start making music again. This will be Timberlake’s first album since 2006’s chart topping “FuturSexLoveSounds.”
Today, Timberlake tweeted “To whom it may concern . . . I think I’m READY!” The tweet linked to a video on his website, where he says:
“Someone asked me the other day . . . ‘So are you just done with music?'” Timberlake says. “Music means more to me than anybody else in the world. Look, I’ve only done two albums in 10 years. That’s the way I really look at it. What does the next decade mean for me?”
He continues, “I am the one who sits and is obsessive about it before you even get to hear it. … As close as I get to it, I don’t know that I could physically torture myself that much year-in and year-out and expect it to fulfill me the way that it does and the way that it is right now, I don’t want to put anything out that I feel like is something I don’t love, you just don’t get that every day. You have to wait for it.”
There is no indication of when the new album will drop but at the end of the video there is a
countdown clock — set to expire at midnight on Sunday January 13. There’s no word what it’s ticking towards, though according to The Hollywood Reporter Timberlake may be gearing up for a new album, and several reports have him preparing to release a song that will feature fellow music superstar Jay-Z.
I guess it’s just a wait and see game at this point…
