Below is a recap of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Episode 9 Press Down and Strip Bare which aired December 30, 2012:

The belles are back in Atlanta this week and two of our favorite couples seem to
be having relationship woes. It’s no secret that Kenya and Walter have quite an
interesting “relationship.”

Kenya and Walter meet for lunch and a heart to heart about where things stand
between the two of them. Unfortunately, the conversation did not go as Kenya
had planned. Kenya refers back to the walk on the beach in Anguilla when Walter
told her “you never know what’s going to happen in 3 days” which Kenya took as a
suggestion that a marriage proposal was imminent. He tells her he felt blindsided by
the situation and said, “I wouldn’t have told them Walter is going to propose to me.”
He continues and tells Kenya, “I’m not going to let you or anyone else pressure me
into getting married or eloping. “

Kenya tells him “I am a woman of a certain age and I don’t want to be a 50-year-old
bride. I don’t want my eggs to dry up; I’m hoping for an engagement within the next
6 months. Walter balks but Kenya presses on, “I can’t be a girlfriend, I’m a wife.”
Walter actually laughs in her face and says, “I’m laughing because at your age you’re
not married and you’re supposedly all this wifey material.” Forget Van Der Pump
rules, Walter needs his own spin off show cracking jokes like that.

He continues, “I’ve been married before so my guard is up so I don’t know if it will
take 6 moths. I love you but I can’t feel pressure to marry you. “ Kenya asks Walter
why he loves her, he blanches and says he’s never heard anyone ask someone that
question before. He ends the conversation by telling her “I love you but I’m not in
love enough to marry you today. “ Kenya says she’s heard enough and Walter has to
get back to work, so they awkwardly say goodbye.

The other couple seemingly on the outs is a little more surprising, its Phaedra and
Apollo.

Phaedra and Apollo have a meeting with Kenya to discuss her producing their
“donkey booty” workout tape. Phaedra and Apollo, who is a certified trainer have
not worked out basic details about this new business venture and begin to argue
about various details while discussing the project with Kenya.

Meanwhile, Cynthia’s husband Peter sees a blog post claiming that Phaedra and
Apollo are having marital issues and are headed for divorce (They must have
smoothed things over, because last week the couple confirmed that Phaedra
is pregnant with their second child. Hopefully next season we will see another
“boughetto” baby shower and christening ceremony.) Cynthia tells Peter she hears
rumors that Apollo is always in strip clubs. Peter defends Apollo and tells is wife,
“in the south strip clubs are like the office. Apollo is 32 years old and he was looked
up looking at men for 6 years, maybe he just wants to catch up on the ass game.”
Cynthia asks Peter if he goes to the clubs he tells her “once every 6 months.” She

then asks when was the last time he was there; without missing a beat he tells her
“the day before yesterday.”

After her conversation with Peter, Cynthia decides she wants to go with him to
a strip club so she can see what goes on. She invites Phaedra and Apollo to come
along. While they are having drinks and trying not to stare at the strippers (Cynthia
chose a club where all of the strippers look like they should have stopped dancing
about 30 years ago.) Apollo says that during his marriage he has lost a sense of who
he is as an individual; he’s turning into a different person and wants to go back to
the funny, jewvial (I think he meant jovial) individual that he once was.

Later, Cynthia and Peter hold an event at their restaurant, Bar One. All of the ladies,
except NeNe (she was out of town) attend with their husbands. The party also
marked the first appearance this season of everyone’s favorite hair dressing duo
Dereck J and Miss Lawrence.

Phaedra and Apollo try to quell rumors their marriage is in jeopardy and
overcompensate by making out at the table in front of everyone and telling the
group that they are “pornstars in the bedroom.” Kenya’s boyfriend Walter arrives at
the party late and ignores Kenya and heads to the back of the bar to talk to the other
husbands. About 10-15 minutes later at the prodding of the other gentlemen he
finally heads over to say hello to Kenya. This does not go unnoticed by Cynthia who
says “why would you come to an event to be with your woman and then ignore her
when you get there- something isn’t right.” Kandi chimes in, “It seems like they don’t
know each other.”

Kenya is upset, so when Porsha approaches her to try and patch things up after their
epic blowout in Anguilla Kenya is not in the mood to talk. “I’m already upset with
Walter disrespecting me by coming in and acting like he doesn’t see me; I don’t have
time to play nice with dumb dumb. “ She tells Porsha “I don’t want to get to know
you, we can’t be friends, you went to far with some of the things you said and you
still have growing to do. I can be cordial but I don’t see us becoming friends.” She
then leaves the party with Walter.

Next time- Kenya tells the group “every day somebody thinks I’m Beyonce.” (She
must have one hell of a mirror at her house) NeNe introduces her granddaughter the
world. Kenya tells Walter “you treat me like s**t.”
