Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have broken up. Again. How do we know? Because the 20-year-old newly single singer sang her version of Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me a River” at the third annual UNICEF charity concert in New York City over the weekend.
You know, the song JT wrote when Britney Spears cheated on him. Allegedly. Before Selena sang the song, she told the crowd that this song speaks to her.
“I’ve been through a lot the past few months,” Selena said. “It’s been weird and sad and cool,” adding, “This song definitely speaks to me.”
Selena followed the song which has now become the national anthem of breakups with Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble.” Before singing her BFF’s song, Selena said, “[The song is] by my best friend in the entire world and if anybody has felt anything painful to their heart, they know who this girl is. Sing along if you know it.”
