Rumors have been swirling for a while that Janet Jackson is planning an extravagant wedding to fiance Wissam Al Mana. But the couple has stepped up and debunked the rumor. Why should we believe them? Because Janet and Wissam are already married. Say what?

In a joint statement, the married couple told ET exclusively, “The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony.”

The statement continued, “Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children’s charities.”
