Katy Perry is ditching John Mayer for a ‘girl.’ And by that, we mean Katy is taking “Girls” star Allison Williams as her date to the Grammy Awards this Sunday.

Williams broke the news yesterday to Anderson Cooper while appearing on his daytime talk show Anderson Live. “I am going to the Grammys and Katy Perry is my date, she’s the hottest date. She’s a friend of mine and she’s nominated as she should be. I can’t wait to go. Obviously she’s awesome. She’s the best.”

The two met several months ago through their boyfriends—Perry is dating fellow Grammy Award winner John Mayer and Williams has been dating College Humor founder Ricky Van Veen since the 2011.

Katy will be pulling double duty on Grammy night- she is presenting an award and is nominated for ‘Best Pop Solo Performance’ for her hit ‘Wide Awake.’
