Russell Brand wants One Direction’s Harry Styles to lay off his female gene pool so the two can avoid an “inter-generational sex war”. Oh Russell, you’re so funny!

It all started jovial enough during an online Q&A which Brand held with fans promoting his Give It Up for Comic Relief benefit at London’s Wembley Arena.

Somewhere during the chat, talk turned to the hottest boyband in the world. “I think One Direction…seem really, really lovely. I met them at the Olympics and they were, like, really good-looking and charming, and I really liked that one Harry,” Brand said. “I don’t think we’re competing for the same audience female wise, so…I think those lads are about 19 and 20 years old now, aren’t they? They’re quite young.”

Brand was then told about Styles’ tendency to date older women. That’s when the 37-year-old comedian changed his tune.

“That’s not on. There’s got to be carefully defined parameters, otherwise there’s gonna be an inter-generational sex war,” Brand quipped, adding, “I like the curly hair. I think he has quite nice lips.”
