Modern Family costars Eric Stonestreet, Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson got stuck in an elevator over the weekend and it had nothing to do with a scene for their popular sitcom.

The trio were headed to a charity event Friday and when they found themselves in this unfavorable situation, the comedians took to Twitter to make fun of themselves and pass gas time.

Stonestreet Tweeted this photo of the threesome along with some others, explaining, “I honestly handled being stuck in an elevator for 50 min better than I thought. All @jessetyler did was pass wind. That’s my mom in blue.”

Not to be outdone by his on-screen partner, Jesse tweeted: “Finally made it out of the stuck elevator at the one hour mark. At least the firemen in K.C. are cute.” Jesse also sent along a video of Julie escaping the scene by a ladder.

The charity the stars were attending was Kids Night Out 2013, held at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center. The stars finally made the event, and , Jesse ended the night by announcing, “Have a great night and don’t use the elevators!”
