The Amazing Race airs its fifth episode of season 22 tonight March 17, 2013 called “Your Tan is Totally Cool”.

Tonight, the teams will travel from Indonesia to Vietnam where a double u-turn awaits the teams in Hanoi. Who will u-turn whom and who gets u-turned?

There will also be some crushing news tonight for one of the teams…what is the bad news and which team will be impacted?

Dave and Connor will start the race first but, once they go to Hanoi, they will be eliminated so Dave could have foot surgery after he was injured. Other teams are happy because they now have a chance to come in first.

The teams have to find Gallery 42 in Vietnam for their next clue. All teams arrive at travel agency at same time. The teams take two different plans to Hanoi, Vietnam. The first teams arrive at Gallery 42 at 7:32 PM but realize it closed at 6 PM, so, all teams will be able to catch up when gallery opens next morning. They all have to sleep by the gallery overnight. Meanwhile, Dave and Connor head straight to the Pit Stop to disqualify themselves. They star crying as they quit the race. All teams know that Dave and Connor are quitting, but they did not tell Pam & Winnie–the teams told them that Dave & Connor are behind everyone and went to see a doctor. They want Pam and Winnie to think that Dave and Connor are still in the race so they relax and run less hard.

We first have a RoadBlock where a member of each team has to watch a performance of a patriotic Vietnamese song singing praises of socialism and memorize a repeated phrase. They then have to find the same phrase on a colored drawing among many different ones. Pam finishes first for her team and she and Winnie head to Thong Nat to do a bamboo dance for their next clue. Chuck & Wynona finish second. Most other teams finish too and follow behind, except Chuck and Wynona.

Now, it’s a Detour where teams have to chose from Make Your Move, a popular Vietnamese game –but they gave to use human pieces in a chest game or Make Your Meal where they have to prepare a traditional Vietnamese dish, Pho.

Pam & Winnie decide to play chess and finish first, heading to the B-52 memorial. Chuck & Wynona are still struggling with the bamboo dance. Max & Katie try for Make Your Meal and find getting the ingredients together a bot more difficult than expected. Chuck & Wynona finish the bamboo dance and pick Make Your Meal but do not find the market.

Pam and Winnie arrive at a Double U-Turn and use it to U-Turn Joey & Meghan. Max & Katie are still struggling to get their ingredients together for Pho. Chuck & Wynona can still not find the market. Joey and Meghan detour Chuck and Wynona. Bates & Anthony are at Make Your Move and now are finished and are headed to the pit stop. See the arrival of teams in order at the pit stop.

Caroline & Jennifer are so confused and can’t complete the chess game. Mona and Beth finish the chess game. Chuck & Wynona finally find the market and feel confident that they have found all their ingredients. Joey & Meghan finally arrive at the market. Caroline & Jennifer come to UTurn and are happy their alliance have not U-Turned them.

ALL teams have now arrived at the next Pit stop, see below……

PIT STOP ORDER:

1. Pam & Winnie- they win a trip for two to Whistler, Canada. So much for the other teams keeping them in the dark about Dave and Connor to slow these ladies down.
2. Max and Katie
3. Mona and Beth
4. Bates and Anthony – they’re shocked they made it.
5. Caroline and Jennifer
6. Joey and Meghan. Meghan says she is now a firing ball of righteousness after being U-Turned and there is no longer a Mr. and Mrs. nice.
7. Chuck and Wynona are the last team to arrive.

WHO GETS ELIMINATED OFF OF AMAZING RACE TONIGHT?
Chuck and Wynona are the last team to arrive at the Pit Stop. BUT, because Dave and Conner dropped out of the race, Chuck and Wynona are saved. THEY ARE NOT ELIMINATED!
