Sunday night’s episode of THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA (March 24, 2013) was called “Donktabulous”. Below is a full recap of the Season 5, Episode 20 of RHOA: Donktabulous.
For this to have been the last episode before the season finale–the episode was majorly lacking in the drama department.
When we last left the ladies of the ATL, Kenya was twirling out of control because her ex-boyfriend Walter had the nerve to show up at Kandi’s housewarming party. Kenya never saw Walter at the party and he never approached her but according to the former Miss USA he was stalking her, “He’s showing up at every event that I’m at, and I don’t have my f*cking security with me and it’s not gonna happen like this.” He’s hanging around my friends, like he’s f***ing stalking me.”
In reality Walter was invited by Kandi’s boyfriend Todd and her manager Don Juan. Speaking of Kandi and Todd, the two discuss marriage and Kandi asks him how he feels about a signing a pre-nuptial agreement. Todd tells her he has no problem with it, but he just wants the agreement to be fair. Kandi agrees and tells the cameras, “I believe in fairness. I just don’t believe in stupidity.” Kandi has quite the growing empire to protect, her spin-off show “Kandi Factory” premieres on Bravo next month and during tonight’s episode we got a glimpse of just how successful her “Bedroom Kandi” sex toy line has become. Hundreds of “Bedroom Kandi” consultants from all over the country came to Atlanta for Kandi’s sales event.
Kenya and Phaedra’s dueling booty workout videos took center stage again this week. Both women were shooting their videos- Kenya in Atlanta and Phaedra in Los Angeles. Last night Kenya threw some shade at Phaedra tweeting, “See who is serious about working out or serious about eating… Maybe a cookbook would have been more believable than a workout video.” The women also traded barbs while filming their videos- Phaedra’s “Donkeybooty” is now “Phine Body” and Kenya’s video is “Booty Bootcamp.” Kenya tells the cameras, “”Looking at me you can tell I’m serious about my workouts. Looking at Pheadra you can tell she’s serious about her meals.” She goes on to say that Phaedra needs to drop 20 pounds and thinks that comparing her and Phaedra is like comparing Jessica Rabbit to Spongebob Squarepants. Not to be outdone, Phaedra referred to Kenya’s posterior as “Home Depot remodeled silicon buns.”
Bravo showed scenes of both women shooting their videos, the way the segment was edited made Phaedra’s video look ridiculous. The producers mixed Phaedra’s workout with dopey, cartoon music playing in the background while in contrast; Kenya’s video looked more serious with high intensity music and actual exercises. Not sure who at Bravo is on Kenya’s payroll, but she owes them a favor. Phaedra’s “exercises” consisted of played out exercises (jumping jacks) and dance moves (at one point she did the Kid N’ Play- if you are under 30, Google it.) The only workout I can imagine getting from Phaedra’s workout routine is working out my core from laughing so hard at that nonsense she calls exercising.
Also tonight, NeNe agreed to re-marry her ex-husband Greg. Porsha spoke with her therapist about her marriage and her previous miscarriage and her fears about becoming pregnant again. She also agrees to bring her husband Kordell to counseling with her…that should be interesting.
Next Week: Season Finale and the 3 part reunion begins April 7th!
