Gwyneth Paltrow’s New Cookbook Slammed By Critics as Height of “Hollywood Neuroticism”

Gwyneth Paltrow released her gluten-free recipe cookbook ‘It’s All Good’ last week but is now facing ridicule in the media for promoting a diet which only the super rich can afford.

It all started when Yahoo! broke down the costs and estimated that Paltrow’s diet would cost $300 per day to feed a family, adding, “Seriously Gwyneth, we want to eat with you. But we can’t afford it. Unless you’re buying.”

Breaking the cost down to individual recipes, her egg white omelet, for example, which calls for duck eggs will cost you $30 to make. Her fish fingers recipe for kids–well, that will set you back a cool $71.50.

Eater.com’s Raphael Brion has jumped on the Paltrow haterade bandwagon, writing, “It’s All Good is drenched in a chatty faux-populism that could only come from a rich person fearlessly boasting about her life of privilege.”

Ouch.

Esther Zuckerman from The Atlantic Wire calls the cookbook a “Bible of laughable Hollywood neuroticism”. And to add to the harsh reviews, New York Post’s Hailey Eber compares it to a “manifesto to some sort of creepy healthy-girl sorority”.

Duck eggs, anyone?
