The Kardashian clan is back in full publicity mode again as “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” premieres its eighth season on Sunday. In anticipation, E! has released a couple of family photos featuring all the Kardashians and Jenners sporting spring colors and happy faces. 

There is one notable person missing from this one big happy family: Kim Kardashian‘s boyfriend and baby daddy Kanye West. Even though Kanye appeared on season 7 of the E! show, rumor has it that he was extremely reluctant to do so then but gave in after heavy pressure from Kim and Kris Jenner. Not sure if he will succumb to pressure again this season.

According to In Touch Weekly, Kim asked Kanye to take part in the family “publicity machine” and pose for the photos, but the rapper refused.

“Kanye doesn’t seem to care for Kim as much as he used to and he has been putting distance between himself and her family,” an In Touch source reveals. “He wants nothing to do with them or the Kardashian brand.”

It will be interesting to see whether or how they keep Kanye in or out of this upcoming season since Kim’s pregnancy will obviously be a key story. We don’t know if baby West will appear on the show either but Kim recently told executive producer Ryan Seacrest that “Kanye has taught me a lot about privacy. I’m ready to be less open with my relationships and I realize everyone doesn’t need to know everything.”
