Season 11 American Idol champ Phillip Phillips has canceled the remaining nine shows of his college tour. Citing illness as the reason for the concert cancellations, Phillips who has long suffered from ongoing kidney issues is said to be “bordering on exhaustion” after performing at six shows a week.

If you remember, Phillips was ill for part of his run on Idol as well and had surgery last year to remove massive kidney stones which were causing problems.

Phillips took to his Facebook page to explain it all: “Hey guys, due to doctor’s orders I have to postpone my last few tour dates. They will be rescheduled!” Phillips ended with, “Looking forward to seeing you all on the John Mayer tour this summer!”
