In an intimate interview with American Vogue popstress Katy Perry opens up about her high profile love life.

The interview which will appear in next month’s edition of Vogue and is accompanied by a stunning photoshoot with acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz quotes the 28 year old star as saying funnyman Russell Brand demanded a divorce by text message and she hasn’t heard from him since he dropped the bombshell.

Katy accepts that her punishing schedule on the California Dreams Tour contributed to the failure of their marriage but intriguingly hints that there is more to the split than she has disclosed. ‘I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day.’ Katy added, ‘Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011.’

Katy also confesses that whilst her on/off romance with John Mayer is over for good she is still madly in love with the singer. ‘It’s over….I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him.’ Katy expands, ‘All I can say about that relationship is that he’s got a beautiful mind. Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds.’

Aside from spilling all on her love life the stunning star also disclosed the secrets behind her cover girl transformation in an exclusive behind the scenes video capturing her makeover process for the magazine.
