Blake Shelton covers the August 2013 issue of Men’s Journal sporting a laid-back look, wearing jeans and blue buttoned-down shirt. In the accompanying interview, the 37-year-old country singer and The Voice coach shared a lot as far as his wife’s fiery reputation is concerned. And he also explained why he’s a little bit angry with fellow Voice coach Adam Levine.!
Here are some excerpts from the interview:
On wife Miranda Lambert‘s fiery reputation: “I don’t give her too much sh*t, that’s like poking a bear. [ Oh Oh, something tells me Blake, you just poked!] She’s as lovable as can be – until you cross her. She’ll go from zero to 100 real quick. If Miranda has an inkling you’re saying something hardas* to her, it’s gonna be a problem.”
On why viewers adore him on The Voice: “Sometimes I think they don’t know who all of us are in the middle. If there’s one thing special about me, it’s that I seem familiar. People feel like I live next door.”
On Adam Levine: “I get frustrated with Adam because, to me, rock stars are supposed to be drunk all the time. But he’s very healthy. He takes care of himself. And it drives me crazy, because I want him to be more like me. Drunk all the time.”
On putting together a show to benefit Oklahoma tornado victims: “I’m not that smart, but I’m smart enough to know that if Usher wants to help you, you let him.”
