King of Queens star Leah Remini has left The Church of Scientology.

Per The New York Post’s Page Six, the actress has made a “dramatic break” from the what many consider to be a controversial religion but one which is followed by many celebrities including Tom Cruise and John Travolta.

A source has told The New York Post that Remini does not agree with policies which prohibit parishioners from questioning leader David Miscavige’s management or the reported abuse of members of its Sea Org religious order.

“She is stepping back from a regime she thinks is corrupt,” The New York Post source claims, blaming its “interrogations” and “thought modifications.”

Remini also is quoted to object “the validity of excommunication of people” or tearing apart families or abusing people “under the umbrella of ‘religion.’ ”

Leah has yet to comment to the media.
