Ben Affleck appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Monday night, responding to criticism for being cast as Batman in the highly-anticipated Man of Steel sequel.
“I’m a big boy. I can handle sh*t. I’m very tough,” Affleck said, then added, “If I can handle an Oscar snub, I can handle anything,” joking about his being snubbed for Argo last season.
“I saw the announcement, I look at the first comment and it’s like, ‘Ben Affleck is going to be Batman’ and the first one goes, ‘Noooooooooo!’” Ben recalled and then added that he at once decided to turn off the computer. He joked that he told his kids, “We’re going to be Luddites for a while.”
The 40-year-old actor added, “The people from the studio said, ‘We want to talk to you because people go through this process and it can be a little trying. They said, ‘We want to show you some of the reactions that past cast members have got on the internet’”.
