Ellen Pompeo was not impressed with this years Emmy Awards. Specifically, the 43-year-old actress let it be known that she was “really disappointed” by the show’s lack of diversity.

“I didn’t see any diversity in the Emmys at all,” Ellen told the USA Today. “The Emmys felt so dated to me… That dance number was embarrassing. Did you see one person of color in that dance number?”

Ellen added that her show Grey’s Anatomy which premieres a new season this Thursday is hip when it comes to a diverse cast. “I’m extremely proud of our very, very diverse cast which represents the world that I walk around in every day,” Ellen said.

Pompeo appeared on “Watch What Happens: Live” on Tuesday and discussed her comments. She told host Andy Cohen that her comments about the Emmys were made “off the record”, as she was walking from the elevator into an interview. While her team is trying to determine why her comments made the article, she says she stands by her quotes nonetheless.
