Kelly Clarkson was just gushing to Jay Leno during a appearance on the Tonight Show about how she and her new husband Brandon Blackstock were “trying like rabbits” to have a baby.

Well looks like all of the trying paid off. Earlier in the week, Clarkson tweeted out the happy news that she is pregnant!

“I’m pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :)”

Speaking of ‘best early Christmas present ever”, Kelly is featured in the latest Parade magazine doing a Christmas-themed photo shoot. She told the mag about her pregnancy: “Everybody calls me fat all the time, so I can’t wait to have a reason, instead of everybody just being a jerk!”

Kelly added, “I’ve never been Gisele Bündchen, so ain’t nobody expectin’ that! I like to set a [low] standard so people don’t expect a lot.”

Kelly and Brandon were married in a private ceremony on October 20th of this year. This will be the first child for Kelly; Brandon has two children from a previous marriage.

No word on when the baby is due.
