Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama definitely love each other, even though neither is coming out with any real news on whether the on-again, off-again couple is back on again. All we know is that Demi showered Wilmer with some public love yesterday in honor of his 34th birthday.

Lovato posted this adorable photo collage of the (former?) lovebirds on Twitter, with this incredibly sweet caption: “To the funniest, most inspiring, incredible man I know.. @WValderrama – thank you for helping me get through my darkest moments.. You truly are a light to this world and to my life.. Happy Birthday!!!”

Wilmer responded to the incredibly awesome sentiment with, “Who needs presents when the gift of you is real to us all.. Thank you for the blessing of knowing you.”

We don’t know if the duo are dating, which we totally think they should be, but we do know that despite rumors, the two are not engaged…yet 🙂  An insider told E! News that the ring Demi’s been sporting lately on THAT FINGER is not an engagement ring.
