Jon Favreau Hosts LA Food Bowl Chef’s Fable

On Sunday April 30th Los Angeles Time hosted a pre-food food bowl conversation “Chef’s Fable”, one of the many major key events taking place throughout the month of may for LA food Bowl’s exciting 31 days of food. The event consisted of a discussion on the evolution of the culinary industry, its impact on the silver screen, and how LA’s hottest chefs have grown to share the stage with Hollywood’s biggest stars.

 The Conversation was hosted by Times restaurant critic Jonathan Gold with Jon Favreau (actor, producer and director of “Chef”), Niki Nakayama (n/naka), Magnus Nilsson (Faviken), Roy Choi (Kogi BBQ/Chego) and David Gelb (director of “Chef’s Table” and “Jiro Dreams of Sushi”), with surprise guest Massimo Bottura (Osteria Francescana). Following the discussion, attendees enjoyed a screening of  “Chef.”

Chef is an American comedy-drama film written, co-produced, and directed by Jon Favreau, and starring Favreau, Sofía Vergara, John Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson, Oliver Platt, Bobby Cannavale, Dustin Hoffman, and Robert Downey Jr. chef Roy Choi served as a co-producer and oversaw all of the menus and food prepared for the film.

Guests enjoyed Food by Kogi BBQ, Guerrilla Tacos, Pasta Sisters and specialty cocktails throughout the night.
